Hi! I'm Nikhil and I've been pushing my graphic design skills for the past four years. As such, I love helping others visualize their ideas. I have a Bachelors degree in Visual Communication from Northern Arizona University, where I was the Student Designer for NAU Enrollment Management Communications. Through the design program at NAU, I also partnered with NAU Theatre to create collateral for Season 2019-2020. I'm currently the Graphic Designer at International Minute Press of Flagstaff, but when I'm not doing work for them I enjoy creating branded pieces for my personal pursuits. Outside my role as a designer, I'm passionate about writing and playing music, exploring new places, and watching super old movies.
My Approach
Design done right is always bigger than itself. The best design distills a broader message down into an accessible presentation that appeals to a target audience’s collective eye. What that means for my process is that I have to understand who I’m designing for as well as what I’m trying to communicate or achieve before I start creating.
And once I do start creating, that process is informed by how the source of the message operates or manifests itself outside of my design—for example, if the source is a company or other entity that already has a well-established brand, I design within the boundaries outlined in their style guide. Everything that follows is simply aesthetic support.
